DESCRIPTION:ARK ENCOUNTER 2026 Includes Creation Museum and St. Louis\n\nWednesday\, May 27: Depart Miller\, SD this morning and get\nacquainted with new friends and reunite with those we know; (other\npick-up locations TBD). Today is designated a travel day as we\nbegin our journey south to Davenport\, IA. After checking into our\nhotel\, Double Tree by Hilton\, we will enjoy a group dinner at the\nhotel. \nThursday\, May 28: We will travel to the Cincinnati area and check\ninto our hotel\, Embassy Suites by Hilton-Cincinnati River Center.\nEarly evening\, we will depart for the Chart House for dinner. The\nChart House is one of the most magnificent waterfront restaurants\,\noffering views of both the water\nand the Cincinnati skyline. The\nriverfront restaurant combines a\nbeautiful setting with an upscale\natmosphere\, making it one of\nthe finest restaurants in the\nCincinnati area. Catch stunning\nviews of the Daniel Carter\nBeard Bridge at sunset while\nyou dine! \nFriday\, May 29: Following breakfast\, we will enjoy a 2-hour\nguided tour of Cincinnati. The tour begins in quaint MainStrasse\nVillage where we will learn all about the German heritage of this\narea and hear about the famous folk tales of the Pied Piper and the\nGoose Girl. Proceeding on to Riverside Drive we will view some\nof the gorgeous old riverboat Captain’s mansions and hear about\nthe incredible tales of the Underground Railroad as well as the\ntragic story of the Garner’s escape. We\nwill drive through beautiful Eden Park\nthen up around Mirror Lake where we\nwill be told the fascinating story of\nGeorge Remus. On to downtown\nCincinnati to view Fountain Square\,\nP & G corporate headquarters\, the Taft Museum\, and the Cincinnati Museum Center. \nNext\, we will travel to Petersburg\, KY to spend a few hours at the Creation\nMuseum (includes lunch meal voucher). The state-of-the-art 75\,000 square-foot\nmuseum allows families to experience earth history as God has revealed it in the\nBible. Nearly 150 exhibits feature animatronic dinosaurs\, talking heroes of the\nfaith\, and professional displays that\nhonor God’s word. The museum also\nboasts a fun-filled\, 200-seat special\neffects theater\, planetarium\, a petting\nzoo\, nature trails\, and lots more. Following ample time at the museum\, we will\nenjoy an\nunforgettable evening on the Ohio River with a delicious chef\nprepared dinner\, entertainment and breathtaking skyline views as we cruise\nalong the river. \nSaturday\, May 30:\nThis morning we will depart for Williamstown\, KY to visit the Ark Encounter (includes lunch meal\nvoucher). The Ark Encounter is three exhibits in one – the massive Ark Structure itself\, the incredible craftsmanship\, and\nthe beautifully-fabricated teaching exhibits. The combination of all three will amaze\nand inspire you to think differently about the biblical account of Noah’s Ark.\nEarly evening\, we will depart for Newport\, KY for a German dinner with entertainment\nat the Hofbräuhaus-the first authentic Hofbräuhaus in America which was modeled\nafter the legendary 400+ year old Hofbrauhaus in Munich\, Germany. Enjoy many of\nthe traditions from Germany and live polka music! \n  \nSunday\, May 31:\nThis morning we will enjoy a guided tour of the National Underground\nRailroad Freedom Center. The Freedom Center shares the stories of freedom’s heroes\, from\nthe era of the Underground Railroad to contemporary times\, challenging and inspiring us all.\nIts location recognizes the significant role of Cincinnati in the\nhistory of the Underground\nRailroad\, as thousands of slaves escaped to freedom by crossing the Ohio River from the\nsouthern slave states. Many found refuge in the city\, some staying there temporarily before\nheading north to gain freedom in Canada.\nFollowing the tour\, we will stop at Findlay Market –Ohio’s oldest continuously\noperated public market and one of Cincinnati’s most cherished institutions.\nFindlay Market is home to more than 50 full-time merchants selling meat\, fish\,\npoultry\, produce\, flowers\, cheese\, deli\, ethnic foods and more. We will enjoy\nlunch (on our own) before boarding the bus and departing for Mt. Vernon\, IL.\nOnce we reach the Drury Plaza Hotel\, dinner and drinks await at their nightly\n“Kickback”. \n\nMonday\, June 1:\nThis morning\, we will travel to St. Louis and enjoy a\nguided tour of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. The Cathedral Basilica\nof St. Louis is a one-of-a kind work of art. With its lofty vaults and\nradiant mosaics\, the sheer scale of beauty is a thing of awe. More than a\ndozen architects’ and artisans’ concepts and\nworks have coalesced in a\nmagnificently well-integrated and harmonious whole. From top to\nbottom\, front to back\, the Cathedral Basilica draws one’s thoughts and\nemotions upward toward the contemplation of something transcendent.\nWe will continue the excitement of the day by visiting the Gateway Arch.\nEnjoying our box lunch aboard the riverboat\, we will enjoy the view on this\nrelaxing daytime cruise that showcases St. Louis from the river.\nNext\, we will witness it all come to life in a 35-minute\, award winning\ndocumentary movie in Tucker Theatre. From the pouring of the foundation\nto the placement of the final piece in 1965\, the stories of the Gateway\nArch’s architecture\, and its builders will leave you feeling inspired.\nBuilding the Gateway Arch in St. Louis was a feat of innovation and\ndetermination.\nMidafternoon\, we will depart for East Peoria\, IL and overnight at the Embassy Suites-Riverfront. We’ll be having a\nBack Yard BBQ for dinner at the hotel.\nTuesday\, June 2:\nToday we will travel to Nashau\, IA for a tour of the Little\nBrown Church in the Vale\nand learn about its unique history.
