Friday, July 11:
We will depart from Sioux Falls, SD Friday morning with additional pickups along the way (pickup locations to be determined). We will stop for lunch at Redrossa Italian Grille, in Pierre. After lunch we will continue west to Deadwood. After checking into our hotel, Holiday Inn Express, we will depart for Sick & Twisted Brewery Company where you can enjoy their unique beers that are brewed in house and Naughti Wines! You will have a choice of a wine flight or beer flight while enjoying your evening meal. (When registering for this tour, please let us know if you want a wine flight or a beer flight).
Saturday, July 12:
Following breakfast at our hotel, we will depart for Belle Joli’ Winery and Sturgis Brewing Company. You will experience the rich history behind the Belle Joli’ Winery and a walk into their on-site, 5-acre vineyard and discover the extreme care and consideration that is put into every bottle of Belle Joli’ wine. Travel inside for an in-depth look at how South Dakota’s only methode champenoise sparkling wines are made and for a customized tasting experience.
This includes a selection of five different Belle Joli’ wines presented alongside a charcuterie board consisting of cheeses and other tailored pairings.
Sturgis Brewing Company will provide a tour of their brewery followed by a flight of brews, flatbread and wings!
Next, we will stop at Days of ‘76 Museum for a guided tour. The Days of ’76 Museum began informally as a repository for the horse drawn wagons & stagecoaches, carriages, clothing, memorabilia, and archives generated by the Celebration. In 1990, Don Clowser installed his collection of import Old West Pioneer and American Indian artifacts, firearms, and archives into the pole barn that was the museum. With this new installation added to what was recognized as the largest collection of horse-drawn vehicles in the state, it became clear that the Days of ’76 Museum needed a new home. In 2004, the board of the Days of ’76 Museum, supported with a $3 million gift from the City of Deadwood, pledged to construct a new $5.25 million, 32,000-square-foot home for its collections of Western and American Indian artifacts, archives, photos, and artwork that is on display today.
Following the tour, join us for a hands-on Charcuterie Workshop where you’ll create your own stunning 10” board to take home! Under the expert guidance of Joselyn from Amazing Graze Charcuterie LLC, you’ll learn how to arrange a beautiful selection of meats, cheeses, fruits, and more all while enjoying a glass of wine! Perfect for all skill levels, this class offers the chance to master the art of charcuterie in a fun, interactive environment. Bring your creativity and appetite!
Next, we will enjoy a one-hour narrated open-air bus tour of this Wild West Town. Watch as history comes to life right in front of your eyes! You will go through the Historic Streets of Deadwood up to Mt. Moriah, famous Boot Hill, visit the graves of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane and other gold rush characters.
The evening is free for you to enjoy Deadwood on your own!
Sunday, July 13:
Following breakfast at our hotel, we will depart for home. We will stop at The Firehouse Winery and Brewing Company in Rapid City for lunch. While enjoying your lunch, you will have a choice of a wine flight or beer flight. (When registering for this tour, please let us know if you want a wine flight or a beer flight).
